Stone labyrinths, one of local attractions

Кандалакшский лабиринт. Фото Г. АлександроваTomorrow I’m off to see or, rather, am being taken to one of those stone labyrinths apparently found al over the arctic coast, in Kola, Finland, and Norway. One of the main local attractions. Said to be real old but stones are small and I have difficulty believing something that small could have survived for any length of time. On the other hand cold and few people tend to preserve things. Wooden crosses dated with 1700’s are common here.  What concerns me is mosquitoes and lack of refreshments on the way there and back. Further, something tells me getting there will involve climbing hills, which includes fighting gravitation. Damn. I already feel trapped, if anybody cares.
