  1. re: “Exit Visas”, “Departure Taxes”, and “Currency Exit Declarations”

Fascist Italy required “Exit Visas” from 1922-1943. Nazi Germany required them from 1933-1945.
Soviet Union required “exit visas” for emigrants, for Russian citizens migrating to other countries.
Uzbekistan still requires “exit visas” for its own citizens.
Russia requires “Exit Visas” for foreigners who are residing in Russia, and a “Return Visa” for them.
“Departure Taxes” are a favorite method of extorting money from citizens. An example is Mexico, 785 pesos ($65 US) cash.
“Currency exit declarations and “currency exit permits” are required by Ukrainian customs at Kiev Borispol airport. When leaving Ukraine, they will ask you “Do you have any foreign currency with you?” I told them “Yes”. They said “Give to me.” I did. They took me deep inside the airport, several levels underneath the airport, where they stole it from me, $3000 USD.
