No tigers in the Murmansk Region

A few days ago there was a report of a tiger roaming the woods in the vicinity of Monchegorsk, and it stirred up quite a commotion.

It turned out there is no tiger. The animal in question was spotted in the vicinity of Luchegorsk at the other end of Russia, between Vladivostok and Khabarovsk, but “Luchegorsk” has somehow turned into “Monchegorsk”, thus all the fuss.

Relax, there are no tigers here, and those looking for thrills will have to be content with brown bears that occasionally show up close to human habitation.
